Minute To Win It!

This term the Pukeko Team will be completing an integrated topic called "Minute to Win It". If you haven't seen this game show on TV yet, you really are missing out! Basically the contestants are given challenges using equipment that can usually be found around the home and (you guessed it!) they have a 'minute to win it'. We will be using this topic to learn about Technology (design your own game), Statistics and Probability (how likely are people to win your game?), Writing (persuade people to come and play your game!) and Visual Language (advertising techniques). In Week 6 we will be inviting the rest of the school to a Pukeko "Minute to Win It" afternoon. Parents may also get a chance to try their luck if they come along to help out on the Pukeko Camp Day for EOTC in Week 7 (a little plug there, parents!)

Here are some of the Minute To Win It games that children wrote about for homework. Check out the video of "Cookie Face", a game that Cherize bought to school for us all to try out! Don't mind Miss Chalmers' hysterical laughing in the background - just wait til you see the facial expressions!

Cookie Face
This is a great game all players can compete at the same time (or you can break it down into several rounds of game play). Each player places a cookie on their forehead, and the goal is to get the cookie into your mouth using only your facial muscles in under 1 minute.

Muffin Tin Toss
You have a balloon, You have to blow it up but not tie it. Then let it go facing to the cups. Try to knock over all the cups.

This Blows
How to play:
1. Start the one minute timer, grab the balloon and blow it up.
2. Expel the air out of the balloon so that it blows the cups off the edge of the table.
3. Continue to blow up the balloon until all 15 plastic cups are on the floor.
4. To win, knock off all the plastic cups in one minute or less.

This game can be played by 2-4 people.

I like this game because it looked really fun in the video and I think the class will like this game. You dont need much equipment. You can play with yuor friends.I enjoy this game the most.

Movin On up
How to play movin on up.
I lick the game movin on up it is very fun so what happens is let's say there was 10  ping cups and one red cup. so all of the ping cups are together and the red cup is at the bottom then in 60 seconds you have to got to the red cup and get it back to the bottom.

Movin On Up
This is my favourite minute to win it game is call movin’on up. You have to move a diffrent color cup from the bottom to the top and back to the bottom. You have to use the same color of cups stack it on top now you have the different color cup on the bottom and the same as it goes up. Lets say we have about 20 red up an one blue cup you try to get the blue cup to the top and back to the bottom in just a minute you may say that so easy but you can only take one cup at a time you have to swich hand with every move of the pick the cup. And this is so easy to do all you need is few cup in the same color and a diffrent color cup or you can take on of the same color cups and put color tape or draw on it. And what is your favourite game for minute to win it. Its cheap and affortable for everyone.
